Tirikala conducts the Shiva Pradosham ritual through the Agama Siddhar tradition, offering individuals a powerful opportunity to break free from their karmic cycles.
Pradosham is a sacred 3-hour period, observed twice a month, occurring on the 13th day of each fortnight, 1.5 hours before and after sunset. This time aligns with the cosmic cycle, with one Pradosham during the waxing Moon and another during the waning Moon. It is a highly auspicious period for worshiping Lord Shiva and his devoted vehicle, Nandi (the bull).
During this time, an Abhisekam (ritual bathing) is performed to honor Lord Shiva and Nandi, followed by offerings of sacred items like milk, curd, and rice. As part of the Agamic tradition, Tirikala incorporates a variety of herbs collected from different regions in the Abhisekam, providing unique healing benefits to help individuals overcome health issues.
