Pradosham for January 2024

Tirikala performs Shiva Pradosham through the Agama Siddhar tradition, benefiting individuals in breaking their karmic patterns.

Pradosham is an auspicious 3-hour period designed to break karmic patterns, observed bi-monthly on the 13th day of every fortnight, 1.5 hours before and after sunset. In the cosmic time cycle, two Pradoshams fall in a month, one in the waxing phase and the other in the waning phase of the Moon. The Pradosham time period is recommended for worshiping Lord Shiva and his disciple, Nandi (the bull).

During this Pradosham time period, Lord Shiva and his disciple, Nandi, are hydrated by Abhisekam, followed by general sacred items like milk, curd, rice, etc. As a unique practice of the Agamic tradition, we use different herbs collected from various places in the Abhisekam, aiding individuals in overcoming health challenges.
