Chellappa Swamigal, is a disciple of Ramalinga Swamigal, in turn, had Mayandi Swamigal as his disciple for spiritaul practices. Consequently, Mayandi Swamigal referred to himself as the hereditary successor of Soottukkol Ramalinga Swamigal Ayya and they lived to be around 18AD
Soottukkol which is refered as a Metallic stick always in the possession of Ramalinga Swamigal. The Metallic stick is used by him to cure the Kamic influence of affected people, Using this metalic stick he had cured many people, He will Place the metalic stick on the head of a wrongdoer| Bad Thought Person or Negative influences , it would cause the skin to burn and help to Remove or reduce the Karmic influences of the Person for betterment.
Near Kattikulam,Tamilnadu he had miraculously created 5 different trees sprouting from the same trunk, By Seeing this miracles People used to call him by "Anju Marathan". The tree trunk pieces can still be found today at his place Ramalinga Swamigal Temple in Kattikulam. In this temple the parents of Mayandi Swamigal prayed for a male child to the god and their prayers were answered by the divine with the birth of Mayandi Swamigal.
Another interesting incident Hapened as during his Life periode is, He activetely participate in a game with village youths, Because of longer time play, The Players became thirsty. To quench their thirst, Ramalinga Swamigal pressed a wooden stick into the ground, and a perennial spring of water emerged to satisfy the thisty of player.
The Water spot is now known as "Ramar Theertham" which is available on the western bank of the Kattikulam till now.
He also performed Miracles as one day when he was traveling from Puthukkulam to Kattikulam, Ramalinga Swamigal unfortunately left his hand luggage bad on the river bank of Near Puthukkulam. When he requested the fishermen to collect and give back to him, they refused, because of the preoccupied with catching fish. This Incident made a Big impact to sidhhar swamigal and in response to that Fisherman action Swamigal declared, "You may not get any fish at all from the Pond." After that incident, the pond has remained devoid of fish till now.
The Jeeva Samadhi Temple of Ramalinga Swamigal is located in Mannargudi, Thiruvaroor District. in this temple Each year,an annual ritual is celebrated on the day of Thai Poosam day, accompanied by annadhanam on every new moon and full moon day and he give blessing to his devoteeon this day
